Scientific Atlanta 4200HD/4200 issue- Has it been fixed yet?

I searched the forums and found some referances to my problem, I found no real solution. (Though one person said they fixed there problem they're useing sage tv I'm Using GBPVR

No matter how close or far away I am the USB-UIRT will not learn the remote in GBPVR (I'm using the latest release). What can I do (other than shelling out more money to patch a problem. Sorry to sound frustated but I'm spending more time buying parts for the PVR then using it. Thanks

So what did you do? I can't get my USBUIRT to 'see' any of the numbers for the Explorer 3200. The USBUIRT flashes and blinks when I used other features of the remote, but not the number pad (for changing channels)
