Getting Pronto codes into USB-UIRT (for HS2)

Postby mark_anderson_us » Fri Sep 03, 2010 1:55 pm

Hi Guys

I got the USBIRT remote, and am having problems learning command with lrnhelper.

I have a bunch or pronto codes in text format and want to either paste them into the registry or lrnhelper. I read somewhere that what's stored in the registry is different to the actual pronto code, so that looks like a non-starter. Please Note: the IR commands are NOT on the original IR remote so I can't learn them (there are some that are on the remote that I want to learn)

I ran lrnhelper, pressed learn, and after a few seconds just get the spinning disc in Win7 and not responding on the title bar.

I ran learn from HomeSeer with USBIRT plugin and I see a code at the top, but the learn stuff then doesn't work in HomeSeer.

I pasted a pronto code into the IRcode box and pressed test transmit. I get the transmitting ir code dialog, nothing happens and again get not responding. This is the pronto code:

0000 0068 0000 0044 0168 00B4 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 06D9 0168 00B4 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 06D9

The Pioneer Elite IR doc says the command for the above is: A59A+A5CD

I've no idea how you get from A59A+A5CD to that pronto code.

I'm shocked at the complete lack of documentation (other than how to install a driver, which is the one thing everyone knows how to do). I spent ages trying to figure out how to configure in HS (get the IRSignals button to appear, and then where to get lrnhelper and still have no documentation for that.)

I was going to order the irtrans, but didn't want the hassle and the delay of ordering from Europe. I'm beginning to regret that decision now. Has anyone here used irtrans? If so, is there a way to enter something like the Pioneer hex code.

Can anyone tell me what the heck's going on and how I can enter these pronto codes (I can't learn them as they aren't on the original remote)?

Regards

A couple of questions:

1. Will the codes transmit in lrnhelper?

2. Are you able to inject codes into HS? If not instructions here may help.

Hi Guys

Managed to solve it. Once I quit HomeSeer it worked. From what I understand it should work with HS, but I don;t have time to mess around with it now
