EventGhost compared to Girder - Anyone?

Hi All,
Is there a comparison on the forum between EventGhost and Girder? Particularly ease of setup, flexibility, etc.
There is a good article describing setup of EventGhost at:

http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/Controll ... EventGhost

I hope someone has experience with both and cares to share.
I'm trying to get Vista WMC setup with a Sony receiver, TV, Projector, DVD, etc.
I want RF so I've been considering a Firefly remote, X10 receiver, your USB/UIRT, and IR extensions.
Seems the remote functionality deserves a great deal of planning!

Personally i think my App Intelliremote is easier to use than EventGhost and less expensive than Girder.

Plus I have a free iPhone/iPod Touch interface for TRUE RF capabilities to go along with your Firely remote. :)

Would this work as an interface between a USBUIRT and eye tracking software like MyTobii / Viking Communicator?

Thanks

No Intelliremote would not allow that. I think you will need some custom code to get something like Tobii to communicate to a USB-UIRT. You would simply need to hook the Tobii API and catch the eye movement events and then send corresponding USB-UIRT commands that you program. Tobii looks like it has a Windows ActiveX control.

Code: Select all
Tobii’s eye-based interaction technology includes the Tobii eye control engine, a powerful ActiveX-based API for rapid creation of eye control applications in the Windows environment. This allows our customers and partners to quickly develop and customize applications to utilize eye gaze as a modality in computer interfaces. This is not yet on the market, but is available to key partners on a project basis.
