How many stb's can it control

Postby craigap » Wed May 23, 2007 1:56 am

How many STB's of either the same STB or different STB's can one UIRT operate in a home PVR setup?

It depends on the type of STB. If they all use different IR remote codes, they all can be controlled. But mostly if the STBs are from the same type, they use the same code and you are therefore limited. One way to get around this is the use of the zones feature of the USB-UIRT. It allows you to attach two additional blaster diodes that can be controlled independently. So if you ensure one blasters can't reach the other boxes, you can use three of the same kind (two external blasters and the internal blaster).

Could you supply some links to these Blaster diodes you speak of, as well as some on setting up the zone feature?

Search for the "blaster" or "emitter" here in the forum. Not every model is available in every country.

The zone set-up depends on the application that controls the USB-UIRT.
