Unlike Sage (where I wrote the plugin) the BTV plugin was written by Snapstream. Snapstream would need to either write a plugin2 or modify their existing one for 2 units (depends on their architecture).

On another note.... I seem to have issues with the pluggins in Girder. Some times the Original one does not blast the IR code that is saved. It does flash like it is... but the TV doesn't change. When I reprogram the blast code it works for about 12 hours then starts messing up again. Not sure if this is Girder's fault or your pluggin. I haven't rebooted the machine yet after installing the the drivers. Maybe thats why this is happening.

one USBUIRT, 2 sat tuners

The satellite tuners (Starchoice Navigo 405) can be changed to respond on different channels. Noodle NT has it right in his posting on 11:03 pm Aug 18. My question now is that with one usbuirt device and BTV version 3.5 is this a supported, workable solution?

thanks, I'm confirming before buying more hardware.

timmytee,

From what I have been told I believe it is a workable solution. I believe BTV will allow you to set up your two PVR-250 (or equivalent) cards and assign an IR configuration to each tuner.

Probably smart to let others confirm this...

Since you have boxes that can run off of two different IR codes it will work. Just make sure you have two same model HARDWARE Tuners. I would suggest the PVR250.

Multi Tuners stoped working with girder

I rebooted my machine today and now the second tuner keeps failing with girder. When I restart girder it says it can not start the device. Any ideas?

The device is no longer marked as 2 in the device manger. If I try to rename the device with that little program it tells me the device can not be found. Yet the device picks up IR signals from my remote. Is there a way to re-flash the firmware on the #2 device an go through the setup and renaming process again?

single usbuirt now works

I found the interface to train the usbuirt, with some difficulty. Now both receivers are running independently from one blaster.

thanks

It started working fine again late last night. I left it unplugged for a few hours and then added another piece of black electrical tape over the 2nd reciever. Is there a way to disable the second reciever in girder so it only uses the first one?

noodleNT,

No there isn't such an option at the moment -- but its a good idea...

One for ML + one for Girder

I've read through this thread and it appears what I am asking isn't possible at the moment but I thought it best to ask the expert.

Is it possible to use one USB-UIRT with MainLobby and another USB-UIRT on the same computer for Girder? I know ML and Girder will not share one unit but perhaps there is a way to have one for each.

Why do you say this? Girder and ML *should* be able to share a single USB-UIRT. It is one of the USB-UIRT's design features.

I only said this because I read it in the instructions for their USB-UIRT plugin. They specifically said if you are using Girder you must disable the USB-UIRT plugin in order to use the USB-UIRT with the ML plugin. I never tested it so I really don't know if they are correct.

It would be great if they could co-exist. Perhaps I'll give it a try and see what happens. I've got to be able to run IR commands from ML as well as Girder via the USB-UIRT in order to complete my system. Trying to run IR commands like volume via ML to Girder are way too slow. The speed is much better sending IR directly from ML.
