Question...Can i use this with.....

Alright.Ive had my PVR set up for a while now.But i needed the USB-UIRT.I am going to order soon now that it is in stock.But i am still worried it wont work for what i need.So maybe you all can answer.

The programs like SageTV and Meedio will this work with them?
Second i have an Scientific Atlantic Explorer 3100 box, will it work with that?

What i really want to know is this...

The problem is i have digital cable....so i dont change the TV channel i change the cable box channel.Well that means on SageTV or meedio or other programs i can only set it to record channel 3.Meaning if i set it to record channel 78 (MTV here) it will try and tune into the channel on the tv and not the cable box.Will the USB-UIRT fix this?

Yes, the USB-UIRT works with Sage, Meedio, BTV, etc.

If should work fine with your cable box.

As far as having SageTV changing the channel on your cable box, that's exactly what it does. You'll need to connect your cable box's video/audio outs to your capture card's S-Video or Composite video inputs and tell Sage to use the USB-UIRT to tune your cable box externally.
