Using a TIVO emitter

Postby darrenst » Tue Jan 04, 2005 3:00 pm

I have a TIVO that uses an IR emitter. Could this be used on USB-UIRT?

I have read that USB-UIRT has a stereo jack socket, and the TIVO is mono, so there will need to be a converter plug.

Has anyone tried this?

Thanks

All standard Xantech-style emitters (which the USB-UIRT works fine with) have Mono plugs. While it is true the USB-UIRT has a 2-channel stereo jack, it is designed to work with Mono plugs as well. As long as the Tivo emitter is the same polarity as a standard emitter and has no additional components (resistor in line, etc.) it should work fine.
