USB-UIRT Zones and Homeseer

Postby dwoolridge » Fri Oct 01, 2004 1:55 am

Are USB-UIRT zones supported in Homeseer?

I've done a bit of testing and found the following:

Adding Z1 to the beginning of the registry key as described in http://65.36.202.170/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=266 "locks up" the USB-UIRT. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working again. Homeseer also needs to be restarted.

Note: It appears that any manual registry change requires that Homeseer be restarted for it to take effect

...are you sure you're using the latest API driver at www.usbuirt.com/latestAPIDriver.zip ?

The other thread describes what to do with this driver.

I just installed the driver from the link above. It had the same date/time stamp as the one I was using (created April 25, 2004, 7:03:52AM).

I have confirmed the described behavior even with the new install.

(Homeseer V1.7.0)

Upgraded to Homeseer v1.7.7 -- same thing...

dwoolridge,

I found a bug in the HS plugin regarding Zones. Please contact support@usbuirt.com and I'll email you a revised version of the plugin to try.

Using Plugin v1.4.0

The Homeseer Zones work now! Thanks!

I've confirmed that the signals are transmitted as described to the zones:
Z1 : External Emitter Jack 'RIGHT' channel connection
Z2 : External Emitter Jack 'LEFT' channel connection
Z3 : USB-UIRT's built-in IR blaster

No "Zx" prefix: All transmitters active

Can i ask why you wont put the HomeSeer plugin on your website for download. It would make it much easier than having to e-mail you everytime there is an update

...a drivers/software page is in the works (slowly)...

I have been swamped and am not very efficient when it comes to web stuff. I would also like to revamp the entire site.

In any case, if anyone is interested in taking this on I can probably make it worth your while.

Any word on where this plugin can be found? I'd like to send IR directly from HS rather than go through Girder.
