Backup Backing up the Learned IR Codes from the Registry

Postby dwoolridge » Wed Sep 29, 2004 7:49 pm

If you want to back up the IR codes that it's learned, do the following:

1) Open the registry editor (Start-->Run--> Type "regedit")
2) Navigate to the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\UIRT_IR
3) Make sure that key is selected (i.e. highlighted in blue by left-clicking on it on the left pane of regedit )
4) Select "Registry-->Export Registry File" and make sure that "Selected Branch" is selected
5) Save your "backup" file.

To Restore:
I think you would open the registry editor and select "Import Registry File", and open your backup file. WARNING--I have not tested this!! Messing with your registry file is dangerous etc. etc...

[Note for instructions above] These instructions are for backing up IR codes for the USB-UIRT for the HOMESEER application only!

I am having trouble getting Homeseer to learn the X10 codes (I have a learning remote and no longer have a remote with built in x10 codes)
Would it be possible to import the codes from someone elses registry using this method?
If so, can someone send me the .reg file with them in please?

Or is there a better way of doing it ?

Cheers

This is probably the simplest method.

I have managed to get hold of a "one-4-all" remote with X10 codes built in but still can't get my USB-UIRT to learn the codes, this is the last thing I expected to have trouble with ???

So if someone can send me the x10 registry entries I would very much apreciate it
My email address is alan@blackhama.freeserve.co.uk
