Proper wiring for dual emitter connection

Postby Guest » Sun Jun 20, 2004 12:53 am

Good evening Jon, folks,

I know I have seen it somewhere in the forum, but I can't seem to find it anymore - what is the proper wiring to wire two external emitters to a "stereo" plug to the external emitter jack of the USB-UIRT ?

I have all I need (IR LED, plug, wire, etc.) and would like to make my own external emitters.

Thanks.

Each 'channel' of the 1/8" jack can power (typically) up to two emitters (2 IRLED's wired in series). The barrel of the jack is common Ground and should be connected to the cathode of the IRLED (or to the unconnected cathode of 2 IRLED's wired in series). The anode could connect to one of the two tip connections on the 1/8" plug.
