cable length on usb-uirt

Postby araghava » Tue Apr 13, 2004 12:15 am

jon,

what is the length of the cable for the usb-uirt. also would you be willing to make custom lengths (so i don't have to buy a usb extension cable)

Cable length is 6'.

I can special-order 10' cables, but it makes an order take longer. Also it will increase the cost for international orders, since it pushes up the weight.

Simply order as usual and then drop and email to support after your order (support@usbuirt.com)

I received and responded to the email a while ago. Did you not receive it? If you didn't, you may want to check you spam filters, etc.

Is it possible to use a usb cable extender? Is there a limit to how long the cable should be?

I have used a 6' extension cable and it seems to work OK. I would expect to see problems much beyond this, though, since this is a bus-powered device and added length means more cable resistance and hence lower power supply sagging.
