IR Pass-Tru

Postby David » Thu Nov 06, 2003 1:13 am

I am in the process of setting up the new USB-UIRT that I just received. I have a very basic question that is causing me issues. Does the jack for an additional emmitter pass the received IR signal automagically or must I program every transmit into girder? I honestly assumed, possibly incorrectly, that if I plugger an ir blaster into the external jack, that all signal received by the UIRT would be replicated to the external blaster. Do I need to rethink my setup?

many thanks,

David,

Sorry, but the USB-UIRT does not work that way. Sorry if this was not clear. Since the USB-UIRT's long-range IR sensor does not have the IR carrier information it cannot perform such an IR extension. You *could* program all transmits into Girder, but if your intent is to use the device as an IR repeater, than you're better off with a dedicated IR repeater.

If you need to return your unit, let me know at uirtsupport@earthlink.net
