XBOX success??

Postby MikeH » Sat Oct 11, 2003 5:38 pm

Jon,

I have had a lot of trouble with my IRLINC learning IR codes from XBOX (well...it has trouble learning ANY code, but XBOX is the most difficult :? ). I believe the XBOX uses 56/57khz, which you appear to offer as an option.
Have you, or any of your users, had success learning the XBOX remote IR codes with USB-UIRT??. Specifically, I need to learn the DVD codes so that I can "NetRemote-to-HTCP-to-Girder-to-USB-UIRT-to-XBOX".

thx

MikeH,

I'm not aware of any users trying this, but I believe I know someone who has an XBOX w/the IR add-on. I'll see if I can test it and let you know...

Best Regards,

Jon

MikeH,

While I don't have an XBOX at the moment to try the learned codes, I was able to LEARN from an XBox remote just fine. The XBox remote uses a somewhat unusual protocol which is similar to the one my Dish Network unit uses. Anyway, if you have any issues learning, let me know!

Jon,

Thanks for the upadate.

Are you able to consistently the SAME learned code each time you press the key? (My IRLinc appears to be learning a command, but would not control the XBox when the command was transmitted.)

thx

Yep, Same command.

In any case, not to worry -- if we you run into problems, let me know and we'll debug and fix it. That's what's nice about the USB-UIRT -- if a change is needed its only a firmware flash update away...

:D :D :D
Ordered on Monday, receive on Thursday, working flawlessly Thursday afternoon!!!

Using USB-UIRT I have successfully learned all XBox keys and all DISH6000 keys. Neither of these remotes were reliably learned by PCIRlinc. I literally spent HOURS learning 3 commands into PCIRLinc and finally gave up in frustration. Thankfully, I found USB-UIRT!!

Thanks Jon for a great product!!

MikeH,

Good to hear! As I said before, if you run into any problems, let me know. Also, I'd be interested to hear if you're Dish6000 responds to IR as sluggishly as mine does...

Jon,

Your forum has been attacked by the bots! I had to implement a mod to my phpbb forum to get rid of these guys. But after I added the mod they went away. Check out the support site for phpbb. I don't remember exactly which mod it was, but it worked.
