FWIW, a probably meaningless tip

Hi all,

Thought I would share an emitter trick I use with my UIRTB. I have the radio shack repeater pyramids that I use to control the satellite receiver from the bedroom. Therefore, the transmitter pyramid is already set to blast the ir signal at the component rack. What I did was tape the UIRTB emitter to the front of another receiver pyramid and placed it inside a box in back of the TV (hidden). I place it inside the box to eliminate the possibility of picking up any ir echos. When the UIRT transmitted, the receiver pyramid picked it up, transferred it to the transmitter pyramid and blasted the component rack. Worked flawlessly.

Advantages include:
* no need to use a distribution block with a series of chicklet ir emitters taped to the front of each component.
* no need to string the cord out and around so that the blaster faces the rack
* short wires have got to be better than longer wires.

I plan to implement the same setup with the USB-UIRT when the emitter/blaster issues have answers.
