Questions about remotes and working with ReceivedEventHandle

Postby brian42 » Wed Sep 28, 2005 4:13 pm

1) my cable remote does not fire my ReceivedEventHandler. What are the possible reasons for this? Charter cabel remote Model AT2000-4 SA Part number 740177 can you change the frequency to watch for? I can learn commands for this remote after sever button presses.

2) my Sony DVD RM-DX700 works with the following issues:
1) some buttons repeat, are they set for burst mode? the recieve gets called three times on and quick press and lots of times if you hold down the button. How can I handle this in c#?

2) I seems like I get the same USBUIRT string most of the time if you point it in the general direction, but there seems to be two strings for each button, 70% one value and 30% the other for the same button. What could cause this?

If I am developing a C# app to learn a remote and respond to it, can I just store the unique 12 char string for each button and then respond when I see that string? Should this be just as reliable as Girder?

Thanks for your help,
Brian.
