USB-UIRT web server

Postby Web addict » Wed Sep 28, 2005 2:13 pm

I wan't to use my usb-uirt to send ir code with a web server. My idea is to control my tv, dvd-recoder and roomba from a web site.

Is there someone working on a similar project?

is there an api or dll for doing this?

I am not aware of any ready-made middleware to do this, but basically it would require a web front end (maybe a PHP script, etc.) on a web server which either used a command-line app to control the USB-UIRT or some other app.

The USB-UIRT does have an API but it is designed to be accessed from programs and not a web page.

Might be worth mentioning here:
EventGhost has a Webserver-Plugin and an USB-UIRT-Plugin also. So you can do it with it. (I control a bunch of equipment this way.)
