What are the advantages/disadvantages of the Raw versus Pronto-Raw code formats? Should this be user selectable in an application?

No real advantages -- the Pronto Raw and Raw can both accomplish the same thing -- the Raw is a bit more compact, while the Pronto Raw is more of an 'accepted' standard.
