serial UIRT frequency upgrade

Is there any chance that you might upgrade the firmware on the good old
serial based UIRT to the same level that you have the usb version.
I don't mind switching to a faster PIC
I'm mainly interested in the transmission frequency not the reception part 20-60kHz
