Can't xmit: uirt2_send: "remote not supported" w/l

Postby Guest » Sat Apr 15, 2006 9:18 pm

I've seen this problem referenced in other threads but no solution. Receiving works great with the uirt2_raw driver in userspace mode, but sending fails with the above error message. The unit light comes on during or after the error occurs. Sometimes it remains on. When that happens the unit must be unplugged and ftdi_sio reloaded before it will respond.

Things I've tried without avail:
- I've tried editing hw_uirt2_raw.c to change the 48-byte limitation to 128b and recompiling, as suggested by claudioc in the Transmitting howto.
- Using a raw remote configuration in lircd.conf.
- Adjusting the frequency line for the remote in question (currently 38000)
- Changing permissions on /dev/ttyUSB0 to 777

Looking at the code it appears the "remote not supported" error is returned by daemons/hw_uirt2_raw.c after two different methods of transmission, "REMSTRUC1" and RAW, fail. But being neither a coder nor knowledgeable in firmware I can't figure out much more than that.

Help would be appreciated as I bought this thing for its transmitting ability. Here's the lircd output (debug mode):
