USB-UIRT Forum

Is there a simple way of testing the device both for reading and trasmitting? I am trying to work it in LinuxMCE, but it appears that it is neither transmitting (no light seen thrue dig.cam) or reading (learn remote codes show nothing during remote pressed 2-3 inches from URIT front face, thougth the light on UIRT lights up).

I am very new to LinuxMCE and UIRT. I purchsed the USB-UIRT as it was recommended in forums to work well with it.
