Double transmit codes from lirc

Postby Guest » Sat Apr 09, 2005 3:14 pm

I have installed lirc 7.1 on my linux 2.6 box with a USB_UIRT transmitter/receiver.
It transmits and receives ok, but on transmit, no matter what remote I use (Hauppage,
Sony, RCA and a few others) it always sends 2 numbers. Not 3 and not 1, just 2.
It would seem like an error in the lircd.conf file but I cannot figure it out. I tried
increasing gap, repeat_min, repeat and always the same. When used in irsend with
the same remotes, it seems to be sending signals also in pairs (irw responds with
the correct codes but just double!). The receive end can be adjusted in the lircrc
file, but the transit is a total puzzle! Does anyhow have experience with this?
The list has a few posts about this but no solution that seemed to work (or at least
it was not posted). I am using this for mythtv an it is essential to get it going. Perhaps
I just need to ditch the USB-UIRT and go with a serial or other transmitter?

Thanks.

usb-uirt can't do both receive and send with a single instance of lircd running in linux so far.

It can be set up to do receive and multiple sends or no receive and single sends.

The workaround for single sends is to remove all instances or lircrc

rm /home/mythtv/.lircrc
rm /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc

or from your users home directory or wherever its located.

to get both working you could set up second instance of lircd, but i haven't figured out how to do it.
