Double codes when changing channels on DT 12-300

Postby Marty » Mon Sep 06, 2010 3:13 pm

I'm using Sage TV to and USB-UIRT to control a new DTD 12-300 Directv box. I re-programmed the .ir file several times and each code tests out fine. I can see the IR box red flash then the blue light flash on the 12-300 for each code when I test them.

But when I try to change channels actually using the sagetv program guide or manually, I often get double digits. For example I can switch to channel 4 or 9 ok. But going to 208, the DT box flashes quick twice and tries to change to channel 2208, which does not exist so the dtv box does not change and sage thinks I'm on 2208. This does not always happen but does about 40 or 50% of the time. It does this sometimes on single digit channel changes but seems like more often on double or triple-digit channels. Get 22 for 2, 44 for 4 sometimes. Then 501 will work fine. These are just examples and do not occur reliably. In short, I cannot rely on sage to change the channel properly and thus cannot record correct shows.

I have reinstalled the USB-UIRT dirvers, reprogrammed the codes, shortened the delay between codes to 140 ms, tried pointing the blaster box out into the room and directly at the DTV box about 2 in. away, but still have the problem.

It just seems that the DTV box sometime (often thinks 2 quick codes are being sent instead of just one.

Note, I was using an old RCA DTV box and almost never had channel control problems like this -- pointing the blaster out into the room 180 degrees from the face of the DTV box.

Any ideas on what is wrong or what to test next?

Thanks for any help or direction to help/support. --Marty

Have you tried setting your repeat count to la lower value? If not try 5 and see how that works. Five is the default value for lrnhelper.
