USB-UIRT stops being able to change channels SageTV Win 7 64

Postby rdwolf34 » Mon Mar 15, 2010 8:47 pm

I am using Sage TV (latest 6.6) and the USB-UIRT stops being able to change channels all the time. I have to unplug the USB-UIRT from the USB Port (it is plugged into the back of the PC USB Port) to get it to
work again.

I have Windows 7 64 bit with all updates applied, Sage TV 6.6 latest and USB-UIRT with latest driver from USB-UIRT Web site ver 2.0.2.16 (dev mgr shows FTDI, 2/17/09, ver 2.4.16.0).

This is very frustrating. I saw some posts on the topic but not solutions.

Can anyone explain why this is happening and if there is a fix?

Thanks

Having same problem - SageTV USB-UIRT stops responding

Postby hendercc » Wed Mar 31, 2010 4:52 am

I have the same setup (Win 7 64-bit with SageTV) and the same problem. After a day or two of working fine, the USB-UIRT stops responding. It shows that its working in device manager. I have to reboot to get it working again (unplugging from the back of my HTPC is very difficult so I don't go that route). I had the same problem under Vista. I was hoping the move to Win 7 would fix it. It worked fine for years under XP.

Still working to get solution

Postby rdwolf34 » Wed Mar 31, 2010 5:19 pm

I am trying to get a solution by sending email to USB-UIRT support. No fixes yet but I am exchanging info. about the issue.

I wonder if this is SageTV's issue also or just USB-UIRT issue...

I am having the same problem. I had it on windows xp and recently upgraded to windows 7 and the problem persists.

It isn't just a sagetv problem, my remote quits working for grider as well.
