With HS2 : how to accelerate the learning to accept the IR ?

Postby nslmanu » Sun Oct 25, 2009 5:34 pm

Hello,

I've isntalled and configured the USB UIRT on my HS2 computer ...

All works fine and configured.

BUT i have a little problem :

with some remote, i can't pass the learning code and with other yes ... SO i'd like to understand HOW i can reduce the numbers of time that i need to HOLD and PRESS the button i need to record for having at the final the button recorded on the HS2 interface ?

I don't understand why i need and can't arrived at the end of the bar because each time i push the button on my remote, the signal is at the maximum, but the bar doesn't want to advance to the end and having the button recorded ... even if the signal is 100 % ok !

I 've want to thank you in advance ...

Thanks a lot

Bregards

I assume by HS2 you are refering to HomeSeer2. I can not give you help there. However, I might suggest that you use lrnhelper for learning the ir codes directly from your remote. Transmit the codes from within lrnhelper and see if they work. If you don't expererience the same problems with lrnhelper, then your problem is with HS2. You may be able to paste the learner codes into the HS2 application somehow.

Anyway lrnhelper is a simple application written by Jon Rhees and has the highest likelyhood of success. It can be downloaded at http://www.usbuirt.com/lrnhelper_0_0_5.zip

Hello,

I've just test it, with the lrnhelper it's great !
As you can see on the screenshot :

But when i try with the plugin of Homeseer : i can listen the code BUT i can't record it, the button to upload is in grey ... so i can't record the code listened just before with lrnhelper ... it's normal ?

Thanks a lot for your answer.
Best regards

Go to this http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=112662 Homeseer forum discussion. Also this http://www.usbuirt.com/phpBB2/search.php?search_author=Skybolt&sid=8eed65cbbd9908873a039480e696dd1e usbuirt forum discussion. You will see that Homeseer saves the ir code to the registry. It appears from the discussion that the registry entry is at [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\UIRT_IR] but since I don't use Homeseer I can not say for sure. You should be able to manually store the values in the registry using regedit.

As far as importing directly to Homeseer, you may want to ask this question in the Homeseer forum.

Yep thanks a lot for the info ...

I don't really know how to convert the IR recorded directly by the .exe and upload it on HS2 reg.
