USB-UIRT Forum

Hi all,

Just bought a USB UIRT (after finding the Hauppauge blaster requires me to purchase win xp mce). I'm using Beyond TV with it. My cable box (Thompson brand, provided by HOT, the cable company in Israel) is not listed so I used learning mode to try to get it to work. It seems to learn the codes, but when I try to test the transmit, it flashes its' light, but nothing happens on my STB. Any thoughts? Did I just get stuck with a lemon?

Since I can't find a way to edit my post, I'll just post this:

I tried using lrnhelper to test the thing as well. It seemed to get a signal from my TV, but not all the time. I.e. Out of five tries to have it learn the code for my TV and then trying to get it to turn it on and off, it got it three times. So I'm guessing it's somehow not collecting a full code. Anyone got ideas?

Hi Eric

Its possible that your stb uses philips rc5 ir codes which use a toggle bit....

Try learning the power button and then test it....If it toggles the state of the tv only once try toggling the tv using the remote and then try again via the usbuirt.....I hope this makes sense...
