USB-UIRT Forum

I am very new to this. I have a debranded HP pavillion 7640 that came with the IR sensor and remote. I installed my copy of XP Home on it. It is looking for drivers for the BB Dongle and SM Bus Controller which is what brought me here. I know that I should have MCE but don't and have heard too many bad things about ViSTA to upgrade.

Am I correct that USB-UIRT should help me get that up and running? I installed it and it didn't find any applicable hardware. I'm usually pretty good with computers but lost on this.

Can someone point me in the right direction?
