can't get wake feature to work

I am using the 1.4 drivers, and the lrnhelper 0.5 tool. I successfully enter the code and flash the usbuirt.
My motherboard has an option in the bios to allow wake on usb event - I have this option enabled.
When in standby, the usbuirt light flashes when I press buttons on my remote, but does not wake up....
I've tried repeating codes, non-repeating codes....I can't seem to get this to work, any suggestions?
