usb extension ideas with usb-uirt
Posted: Thu Jul 24, 2008 6:18 pmHi, I've been trying to run a usb extension from my basement cpu to my tv (about 20m). I've purchased something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/USB-Extension-C ... B000KEHMLQ but I'm running into issues where the device randomly dies. After reading about EMI issues here on the forum I tried another similar unit like this

However, I'm still running into this disconnect issue where I have to physically unplug and replug to get the unit working again. I've also tried sending the ir signal to the basement using Xantech wireless ir transmitter/receiver. In that case the ir isn't strong enough because the distance is to far. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can resolve this issue? How are others getting around this problem.
