Vista Media Center "IR hardware not detected"

Postby belzebutt » Wed Dec 05, 2007 4:22 pm

What would it take for Vista Media Center to recognize USBUIRT as valid IR hardware? I don't even want to use it for that, but in order to be able to change inputs to S-Vidio or Composite, Vista Media Center requires you to have IR hardware. Otherwise you're stuck with the analog cable input.

Postby doron_amedey » Sun Mar 16, 2008 8:02 am

hello,

I have Vista Ultimate and have the same problem.
it only works with the HAUPPAUGE 150MCE IR and not the USBUIRT.

Sadly it appears that neither Microsoft nor the USB-UIRT developer care enough about this product to provide this badly needed Vista Ultimate functionality. So I use SageTV instead.

i'm really sad to say you are right.
in israel i posted that there is no help from usbuirt at all.
i know that most users buy today the pvr-150 MCE that works fine.
i'm stuck with the old usbuirt and no support.
