USB UIRT disabled by hub (EMI?)

Postby jflatt » Tue Nov 27, 2007 3:15 am

My usb uirt seems to constantly disconnect itself. I've tried several different Linux kernels, and plugged it into every USB port in my system. It seems to occur randomly. It will reconnect, but as a different device, so I have to reboot to get it working again. There are no emitters plugged in, which I've seen caused problems in other posts. Anybody fixed this before? Maybe theres a workaround where I can switch to the other device that gets created?

These are the entries in my log:

Nov 25 22:13:48 theater hub 2-0:1.0: port 8 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...
Nov 25 22:13:48 theater usb 2-8: USB disconnect, address 2
Nov 25 22:13:48 theater ftdi_sio 2-8:1.0: device disconnected
Nov 25 22:13:48 theater usb 2-8: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3
