Poor sensitivity?

Postby grant » Wed Oct 10, 2007 4:15 am

I've had my USB-UIRT installed for about two weeks now, and the
sensitivity seems quite poor. I had to remove the dark red
lens in order to get it to work with the remote more than a few
inches away. With the lens removed, it works out to about 8-10
feet as long as you stay within 5-10 degrees of the device's
center-line.

I put a fresh set of batteries in the remote and that didn't
make any difference.

My previous receiver was the one that came with a Hauppage
PVR-350 NTSC tuner card (which is no longer in my system). I
never had any sensitivity problems with it. I'm still using the
same remote control, and the USB-UIRT is located in exactly the
same spot that the old receiver was.

Is there anything I can do to increase the sensitivity of the
USB-UIRT? I'm afraid it's not very usable as-is.
