Replacement for Marginally Faulty Unit?

Postby StrayLite » Wed Aug 15, 2007 12:35 am

I have a marginally faulty unit that requires unplugging and plugging it back in on each reboot (warm or cold) in order for XP to recognize it.

I thought this was just a normal annoyance until I bought another USB-UIRT for my living room HTPC. The second USB-UIRT works flawlessly on either machine while my original unit exhibits the same problem on both machines, so there is no doubt about where the fault lies.

Is it possible to purchase a replacement first and then send this faulty unit back for a refund? I would like to go this route because the unit does work as long as I remember to unplug it and plug it back in when I boot the machine.
