Constant flashing problem

Hi,

I have my USB-UIRT controlling SageTV and it works fine but I must leave a light on at all times because whenever it's dark, the unit flashes to the point that the LED remains lit almost constantly.

I have unplugged everything else in the room and there's no IR sources, I've even turned off the monitor and still the LED is lit. If I cover the front of the unit with tape the problem is the same.

If there is any light shining on the unit, the LED works as it should.

Does anyone know what can be done or the cause of this ?
