USB-UIRT works on one machine, not on another

Postby siberian » Sun Jun 03, 2007 7:16 am

Hi, hopefully someone has some ideas.

On my laptop my USB-UIRT works perfectly.

However when I move it to my HTPC it shows up as a registered device in my USB device list but :

1) The red light is not blinking in response to IR reception
2) Girder 4 is unable to connect to the device.

Same drivers on both system (latest from website)

Any ideas? This worked on my old HTPC.. Its odd that it shows as a device but is exhibiting these issues and only on this machine.

Thanks!

Uh oh, the situation is serious. My wife is threatening to buy a DVD player for every room in the house unless I get out distribution system online again!

Current symptom is that Girder is unable to connect to the device (and shows Red in the plugin menu). It shows up in device manager but the red light never flashes in response to IR input.

Device itself is good and tested on another PC.

Windows XP SP2 MCE.

Any ideas anyone? My MCE IR system works fine so there is no systemic overloading of the IR, no hardware failure. USB port is tested good. This is some sort of software issue..

Messing around with HIP and the MCE replacement driver but I really just want my USB-UIRT to work again.

Help! :)
