uirt2usb_send: remote not supported

Postby KShots » Mon Mar 26, 2007 5:05 pm

I'm getting the above in my syslog when I attempt to transmit via the usb-uirt2 device.

I'm transmitting with an lircd.conf that successfully receives everything from my remote, but when I try and transmit to my satellite receiver, I just get the above message.

More detail:
Code: Select all
rich@basilisk ~ $ sudo irsend SEND_ONCE dish1 1
Password:
irsend: command failed: SEND_ONCE dish1 1
irsend: transmission failed
rich@basilisk ~ $ sudo tail /var/log/messages
Mar 26 12:34:26 basilisk sudo:     rich : TTY=pts/1 ; PWD=/home/rich ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/local/bin/irsend SEND_ONCE dish1 1
Mar 26 12:34:26 basilisk lircd-0.7.1[11361]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd
Mar 26 12:34:26 basilisk lircd-0.7.1[11361]: uirt2usb_raw: UIRT version 0509 ok
Mar 26 12:34:26 basilisk lircd-0.7.1[11361]: uirt2usb_send: remote not supported
Mar 26 12:34:26 basilisk lircd-0.7.1[11361]: error processing command: SEND_ONCE dish1 1
Mar 26 12:34:26 basilisk lircd-0.7.1[11361]: transmission failed
Mar 26 12:34:26 basilisk lircd-0.7.1[11361]: removed client
Mar 26 12:34:31 basilisk sudo:     rich : TTY=pts/1 ; PWD=/home/rich ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/tail /var/log/messages
irw successfully captures all my remote's buttons, so I know the remote is supported. What gives?

More info:

My directtv remote sends properly, but I don't use a directtv receiver - I use a dish networks receiver. Is this a hardware shortfall?

The same with my usb-uirt:
Lirc daemon is configured and is working perfectly when receiving - device reads correctly every button from my remotes but i never succeeded to transmit with it. It always gives me this error:

Jun 2 08:43:04 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: uirt2_raw: checksum error
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: uirt2: detection of uirt2 failed
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: uirt2: trying to detect newer uirt firmware
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: uirt2_raw: UIRT version 0905 ok
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: uirt2_send: remote not supported
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: error processing command: SEND_ONCE sony ON/OFF
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: transmission failed
Jun 2 08:43:05 mc lircd-0.8.0[28091]: removed client

This is the result from invoking:

irsend SEND_ONCE sony ON/OFF

I've read all about transmitting in forum but nothing helped with my case.

lircd daemon is started with these options:
/usr/sbin/lircd --driver=uirt2_raw --device=/dev/ttyUSB1

It's configuration file is attached

Please help me with some advice in order to get this device to transmit

Best Regards!

Best I can tell, the USB-UIRT is falsely advertised as a 56Khz transmitter - I can get it to transmit at 38 Khz, but not 56Khz, though with the 56Khz option I can get it to receive in 56K (just not transmit).
