not sending code?

Postby wang191 » Sat Mar 08, 2003 10:50 pm

So i istalled the drivers and the gider plugin.
girder sees the commands my remote sends ot the transciever.
THen i went to the plugin config and hit "learn"
Only code1: is being filled. Code2 stays empty. then i hit test and my tv is not turning off. I tried number keys as well. Nothing is happening. I tried all the carrier frequencies too.

Is this not sending commands or is it not recieving the proper commands?
i also did the force raw learning as well.

1. The first thing you'll want to try is putting the 'repeat' value to a higher number before hitting the 'Test' button. Try a repeat value of 15 for starters.
2. When learning a button, remember to press and HOLD the remote button until learning is finished.
3. For now, always 'Force RAW'.
4. When you hit the TEST button, the Red LED on the USB-UIRT should light up. This indicates that the USB-UIRT is transmitting IR.
5. Try the 36, 38, and 40KHz frequencies first.
6. Make sure the USB-UIRT is pointed towards your TV.

If none of this works, post the make/model of your TV. Also, please send an 'IR Debug' of your TV off button (press the IR Debug button and then press and HOLD the remote button and paste the hex dump to your posting.)

the unit is working for my other equipment just not this TV. (philips magnavox)
The remote seems to be changing the code it is outputting. I actualy got it to turn off my tv twice but it won't consistantly work.

this is the debug code.

Please try the following code:

(paste this into 'Code1', make sure 'Code2' is blank)

06E21512101022122404800400000000000000000000000000

Set the repeat count up to 10, and try 36, 38, and 40KHz.

The RAW code you sent me is very 'sloppy'. This is either because: a) The remote wasn't aimed at the USB-UIRT while learning the IR Debug, b) The remote's batteries are low (the code degrades over time), or c) The remote is using an odd frequency.

That didnt work either. I had the remote pointed at the usb-uirt. I will try new batteries next.

also,
When i use my remote with my tv the power light blinks when it recieves the signal. When i use the usb-uirt it does not blink.

I also tried to use a universal remote and program it to control the tv. Then i was gona use that to program the usbuirt but i couldnt get any of the codes to work with my one universal remote. There was one code that got the tv light to blink, so i assume it was recieving the commands, but they weren't valid commands so it didn't control anything.

I don't know if any of that helps.

Also, the exact model of the TV as well as the model # of the remote (usually printed on the back of the remote or sometimes inside the battery compartment) would help.

wang191,

You're very accomodating! In the near future there will be a firmware upgrade which will hopefully provide wideband learning. At that time it would be good to give this a try again.

I'll be sure to check into that when it becomes available.
This thing is really neat.
