Error waking up from standby

The emitter is on a 1.5m cable that goes across an audio rack to turn on the preamp. The cable just runs on top of a CD player to the preamp on the next rack. It came with my Samsung DirectTV HD receiver (to plug into the Samsung's emitter jack), and has no other writing on it.
