Im getting a dish 311 reciever tommorow and i use gbpvr. I understand that dish tends to use 56khz for the remotes. Is the addon for that needed to learn it? Or only to actually use a 56khz remote?

...needed only if you plan on using the 56KHz remote. Does not affect the ability to 'learn' the remote for transmission to the 311.
