791-44 connecting block problems

After connecting it wrongly, with the USB-UIRT emmiters connected to the "High-IR Out" of the block unit, it began to smoke...

I quicky disconnected it, but I suspect that the damage is already done

Reconnecting the unit, with the emitter jack connected to the "IR RCVR" jack in the connecting blok, I have the following:
- The led in the connecting block is blinking when sending an IR command
- No signal is passed forward.

I use my own DC power converter rather than the original one, because we use 230V.

Do you think that I killed the unit?
Should there be any problem of using a non-original power conerter?
