Hi all

I was wondering if it was possible to connect an external receiver led to the usb-uirt whilst leaving the one on the unit intact? I've done this successfully with the transmitter

Cheers

Andy,

If you're talking about the long-range IR receiver (as opposed to the learn receiver), you can connect another in parallel with care by using a shielded 3-conductor cable.

Can anyone provide more details on this?

I want to extend the IR Receiver to about 40 ft away. I have an HTPC and a satellite settop box in one room and a monitor in a 2nd room (using a long VGA cable). Makes way more sense to simply extend the receiver LED into the 2nd room instead of extending both the USB cable and the emitter the same distance!

Where can the external IR Receiver be purchased and where does it get wired to inside the USB-UIRT?
