2 IR LED's on 1 stereo jack/cable?

Postby Chargin » Thu Aug 04, 2005 6:16 am

I want 2 IR leds fed off my USBUIRT, I have a stereo jack and cable, can I just wire up one led to each wire ie the left and right chanel? Or will I need to just use a mono or stereo jack and have the 2 leds run off it in parrallel?

Yes, you can wire one LED to each channel, with the cathode of both LED's going to the Barrel ground.

Great stuff, thanks, so the amperage will be split between them? or is the circuit setup to drive 2 leds with the same output each?

The circuit has TWO separate output drivers (this is so that the USB-UIRT can implement Zoning and independently turn each output on or off).
