Noob Question about controlling 2 boxes.

Postby Guest » Tue Jun 28, 2005 10:49 pm

I am currently running beyond TV with a firefly remote and USB-UIRTand two digital cable boxes (motorola DC2244 and General Instrument DC2244) . Everything is working well accept that my blaster changes both boxes at the same time. Is there anyway around that? I suppose I could seperate them (opposite sides of the room) and get another blaster but that doesnt seem practicle.

Some set-top-boxes (like the ones from Dish Network, can be configured to different remote addresses).

Others which cannot be changed can be individually controlled by using the little stick-on emitters (which are very low power). You would need to wire a stick-on emitter on each box and then use the 'zone' feature of the USB-UIRT (look for multi-zone in the General Discussion forum).
