Using USB-UIRT with XP

Postby guest » Mon Jun 06, 2005 1:39 am

Hi,

I have successfully installed USB-UIRT with XP. Am I able to use it as an infrared receiver for my pc? The software I am trying to use does not recognize the IR device.

It depends on the software. The USB-UIRT is for sending and receiving consumer IR (like the IR used by your TV remote control). It is not designed to do IrDA IR (like the IR found on laptops and PDA's for file transfers).

TT is an app which does not have any sort of 'plug-in' architecture, but can be controlled by programs such as Girder which can send commands or keypresses to TT.

I believe TT also provides Girder .GML files which are already loaded up with the keypresses and commands. You would then program Girder to trigger these commands when it sees button-presses from your remote, etc.
