Remote IR Input

Postby MeSteve » Thu Mar 24, 2005 5:15 am

Is there a way to remotely mount the USB-UIRT, in say a closet 30 ft away, and get an IR signal into it wihtout using an RF solution?

Hmmm, without using an IR distribution system I don't know of a great way...

Could I open it up and wire a 1/8" jack in parallel to the exsisting receiver?

I have had a few people wire an external receiver (which requires 3-conductor shielded cable), but I don't recommend it, since the IR receivers are not designed to be operated this way.
