lirc and usb-uirt problem

Postby pfps » Sat Jan 10, 2009 1:46 pm

Hi:

I just got a usb-uirt and I'm trying to install it on my Linux box.

The problem that I'm encountering is
uirt2_raw: checksum error

This used to be a problem in the past, but I'm running an up to date system,

lircd 0.8.4a
linux 2.6.27.9 (Fedora 10)

Any clues on how to proceed?

I'm hoping somene can help out here. I bought my device back in july of 2004. it has been working perfectly with my XP/SageTV setup for over 4 years... I am now trying to switchover to mythbuntu and simply cannot get it to work.

dmesg returns this

[ 7.874179] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid

does anyone know what this means?

Hi all, here is more information. I really hope somene can help me...

I have a Windows media center remote which works well for reception, I can control MythTv with it. But I can't make the IR blaster transmit.

I am following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lirc_USB-UIRT step by step but this just doesn't work...

I do "dmesg | grep -i usb" and it returns the following
