USB-UIRT as serial device

I have a USB-UIRT, but now I've installed it I realise the software I want to use it with can only take input from COMx devices. So...I'm looking for a way to do something like setup a virtual serial interface using USB-UIRT - basically have the USB-UIRT be COM1 or similar.
Is there anything that can do this? I read some mutterings that if I install the homeseer drivers for USB-UIRT that it would do this, but I can't find the drivers they mean.
Any help, much appreciated.
