Fedore Code 7, MythTV, ATI Remote, USB UIRT

Really hitting a wall on making all this work. Any verbose help appreciated
As stated above I'm using FC 7 x86_64, got mythtv working (for the most part)
Now need to get the ati remote wonder and the usb uirt to do it's stuff.
I've followed instructions from a prior post to recompile lirc but still no dice.
any suggestions on how to get both to co exist ?
