would like to use this Xantech 791-44 for connecting block for the USBUIRT. I will also need to connect one IR output from my Pronto RF base to to use to controll my components.

I have gotten conflicting info from many soeces. But I think this will work. Can you look at the linked PDF and shed any light?

I don't think I will use any other zones or receivers at this point. I'm hoping that the Uirt and my rf remote IR output can live together.

Any input would be nice.

W4ZOO,

I'm not sure I'm clearn on what you want to do....

Do you want to:

a) Get IR FROM your Connecting block TO the USB-UIRT's receiver, or

b) Get IR Transmitted from the USB-UIRT TO the connecting block for distribution?

Many people have done this -- you basically need to wire from the USB-UIRT's 1/8" jack to the Distribution block's IR/Signal input.

What about V+ and GND?

I'm trying to get the USB-UIRT connected to a IR-100 amplified block.

IR-100 amplified block:
3 termal screws labeled V+, GND, and SIG, a 9-12VDC, and 4 flashers.

The 9-12VDC and 4 flashers I understand but what about the V+, GND, and SIG?

1. Plugged in a flasher to the 1/8 UIRT (UIRT and flasher light up)
2. 1/8 UIRT to the SIG. Plugged in a flasher into the block (Flashers do not light up. UIRT does light up)

How do I connect these?
Thanks,
Chris

You need to wire the 1/8 barrell to GND and the 1/8 tip to SIG.

Is there a distance limitation to this?

Thanks.

You should be able to run a cable from the emitter jack > 50 ft without problem.
