Transmit IR signal through IR-RF unit

Hi,
Like many people I have my PC in a different room than my main TV and Cable box. I also have a TV in the same room as the PC and use one of those Jensen IR-RF converters to control the cable box (to avoid running wire). This works quite well.
My question: Can I use the usb-uirt unit to transmit a command to the cable box through the same IR-RF converter? Has anyone done this successfully?
I can't really place the uirt anywhere near line of site to the cable box so am looking for a different solution

Thanks

If you have been using the Jensen to send commands from the room with the computer to the room with the cable box, then the USB-UIRT should also work, as long as the Jensen can see the signal.

I use the X-10Pro Powermids, which I think is the same (IR to RF, then back to IR). I have the transmitter by my computer and the receiver by my AV gear.

cjw,

Yes, this should work fine. The USB-UIRT trasnmits IR just the same as your IR remote control does.
