USB-UIRT DRIVER INSTALLATION ON VISTA PREMIUM

Postby stevef » Wed Feb 21, 2007 4:20 pm

I can not successfully install the drivers on a VISTA system.

My process is to download driver 1.4. Unzip the file. Plug the USB-UIRT into the system and let the driver be found on the hard drive.

The install appears to go smoothly, however the result is "The system cannot find the file specified".

Any suggestions?

I was able to install the USB-UIRT on my Premium.
The way i did it:
1. download the zip
2. Created a NEW folder on my desktop.
3. selected Extract ALL (and specified it to extract to the new folder i created)
4. Then plugged in the USB-UIRT
5. When vista recognized new hardware I selected the folder where I had extracted the zip into.
6. Install was a success

P.S I have only been able to use the USB-UIRT with Beyond TV 4.6, i am still having trouble using the USB-UIRt with the Vista MCE! :(

I am glad you got it working.

Did you turn off any of the MCE Vista Services when you installed?

No i didnt have to turn any of the MCE services off. I just installed the USB-UIRT like i previously mentioned, and have been actually using it with the Beyond TV software.

I also have not had any luck getting VMC to recognize the USB-IRT. I had no problems installing the drivers but Vista fails to see it as an IR-device. Anyone else have any luck or suggestions?
